  • The most common prepositions include à (to), après (after), dans (in), de (of), derrière (behind), pour (for) and sur (on).

Prepositions are words like in, to or under that link other words and expressions together. They are often used in front of nouns or pronouns to say where something is, how it is, when it is and so on.
