How French works
It is possible to tell the gender of some nouns through their word ending. The following word endings tend to be masculine :

| –ment | un appartement | flat |
Le voyage a duré une semaine
The journey took one week

The school is right next to the Town Hall
Nous avons loué un appartement
We rented an appartment
The following word endings tend to be feminine :
